WHAT TYPE OF ICE STORAGE?
North Star Solutions

Selecting the Right Ice Storage Equipment

There are three main questions to answer in selecting ice storage systems.

The first is: What type of ice are you storing? Any North Star ice storage and delivery system can be used to store flake ice. When storing other types of ice, choose a North Star modular or triangular system.

The second question is: What materials do you want in contact with the ice? North Star offers various options of stainless steel ice storage systems for food applications where resistance to corrosion and ease of sanitizing are important. Galvanized steel systems are an economical option for non-food applications.

Third and finally: How much ice do you want to store and handle? North Star offers systems with per unit storage capacities from 12 tons (11 metric tons) to 280 (254 metric tons). Units can be combined for greater storage capacity. If you need help determining your storage requirements, go to How Much Storage? or contact North Star.
