Large volumes of ice are often required in chemical applications. Most operations would use pneumatic ice conveying systems that quickly and efficiently move tons of ice to any reactor or vessel with the push of a button. North Star ice storage systems and delivery systems can also be integrated into the ice plant.

Flake ice has more than 17,000 square feet (1,579 square meters) of surface area per ton of ice providing greater cooling efficiency than any other type of ice.

Faster Cooling 

The thin shape of flake ice (1.5mm) allows it to melt quickly enabling the fastest heat transfer for sensitive chemical processes. 

Thorough Product Mixing

The thin flakes of ice melt quickly and completely. No ice particles or chunks are left behind ensuring chemicals are free of disruptive debris.

Environmentally Friendly

With North Star systems, no water is wasted throughout the snowmaking process. The equipment is economically sound by removing the need for chemical snow inducers and additives.
